Sierra Alta Solar

A 300 MW solar plant in the Atacama Desert, one of the highest-irradiance sites in the world.

Sierra Alta Solar sits at 1,500 m elevation in the Atacama, where direct normal irradiance exceeds 3,000 kWh/m²/year. The plant uses fixed-tilt monocrystalline modules and has averaged a 27.4% capacity factor since 2020. Output is contracted under two corporate PPAs with mining offtakers including Cobre Norte Mining, structured as 24/7 block contracts.
